Jun 2021 - Present | Writer, Historian, Cultural Advocate
Alumna of the Traverse Theatre Young Writers’ Programme and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Short Course in Screenwriting
Former Community Artist in Residence with Lyth Arts Centre. Collaborated with Caithness and Sutherland Women’s Aid and LAC to run a series of creative workshops with survivors of domestic abuse. Curated an exhibition of the artwork produced as part of the 2024 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign. Recently received Creative Scotland funding to develop Wholes, a theatre piece platforming the voices of abuse survivors from rural communities.
Appeared on STV Scotland Tonight to comment on the funding crisis in Scotland and advocate for a fairer funding system. Appeared for a second segment discussing the governmental budget for culture.
Shortlisted for the 2023 Edinburgh TV Festival/All3Media New Writers’ Collective for debut screenplay, Number 7.
Jury member for the first round of the 2024 Edinburgh TV Festival New Voice Awards Future Presenter category. Invited to join the jury panel for the 2025 New Voice Awards Future Presenter category.

Consults on development and fundraising strategies for UK-based organisations. Specialises in arts and cultural sector funding and in assisting organisations who are undergoing transitions in their strategic priorities and mission. Clients have included Edinburgh Art Festival, Kinfolk Network, and Africa in Motion Film Festival.
Manages major funding bids, creates bespoke impact reports, and assists organisations with short and long-term strategic planning.
Consults on organisational policy development, creating forward-looking policies which prioritise more equitable, care-centred, and environmentally sustainable organisational practices.
Provides fundraising mentorship for emerging artists who are unsure how to approach fundraising or where to look for support.

Leads on the fundraising strategy for An Tobar and Mull Theatre, managing fundraising bids, strategic partnerships, and monitoring and evaluation.
Oversees the implementation of funding agreements across five departments (theatre, music, visual arts, creative learning, and buildings and operations).
Achievements include exceeding 2024 fundraising target and securing major capital funding for the creation of a new writers’ studio, production studio, and sensory room.
Created initial concept for an international multimedia collaboration with two Brazilian arts organisations. Led on the fundraising application and the creation of a six-figure budget for the project.

This Element explores the idea of publication in media used before, alongside, and after print. It contrasts multiple traditions of unprinted communication in their diversity and particularity. This decentres print as the means for understanding publication; instead, publication is seen as an heuristic term which identifies activities these traditions share, but which also differ in ways not reducible to comparisons with printing. My section of the publication discusses the idea of publication through oral tradition and song.

Appeared twice on STV’s Scotland Tonight to discuss the arts funding crisis and to respond to the governmental budget for culture.
Collaborated with broadcaster and writer Gemma Cairney and 22 Argyle to organise and lead ‘Now What? Transforming the Arts in Times of Crisis’, a seminar discussing how to change our funding systems to ensure long-term sustainability for the arts.
Established Artful Blunders, a new blog discussing the challenges faced by the arts and cultural sector.
